Exploring data collection on Bluetooth Mesh networks

This work evaluates sporadic data collection on a Bluetooth Mesh network, using the OMNET++ INET simulator. The collector is roaming sink node, which could be smartphone or other portable device, carried by pedestrian, biker, an animal, drone . node connect to mesh network in hard-to-reach areas that do not have internet access and collect sensor After implementing relay extensions, Low Power, Friend features OMNET++, we were able propose evaluate algorithms for mobility-aware, adaptive, routing of towards node. One variation proposed algorithm achieved 173.54% increase unique delivered compared Mesh’s default algorithm. In case, there was only 4.63% energy consumption same scenario. Also, delivery rate increased 111.82%.
